Parkwood – A Bright Future

Written by Geoff Austen.

Thanks to a really good turnout on 7th January we have started the next phase of Parkwood’s future and it’s looking good.

The most important issue identified at the meeting was the need to let people know how great Parkwood is. This has given impetus to website production and thanks to input from Liz & Simon Wakeling, Adrian Holliwell, Justin Cruttenden and Steve Cropp we should be able to launch a new Parkwood website in the very near future. For marketing purposes the Parkwood website will have its own domain name but it will also be an integral part of the Brighton District website.

We intend to move towards on-line booking as soon as we can but initially this might have to be limited because we do not want to hold up the launch. The plan is to include a calendar to show the availability to buildings and sites, using a traffic light system of green for available, amber to denote provisional bookings and red to denote that a building or site is fully booked.

In addition to action in respect of marketing Parkwood, we have started the process of longer term planning for new campers’ showers and toilets plus extra activities and possibly a new warden’s office building.

In the near future I will be letting everyone know how they might help further with Parkwood’s future.

Thanks again.
