Brighton & Hove Sunrise Ceremony. 100 Years of Scouting!
From 20 boys and leaders at an experimental camp on Brownsea Island in 1907 to 28 million members worldwide !
You are invited to our Sunrise Ceremony at The Peace Statue (on Brighton & Hove Seafront near the West Pier) at 08.00 on the 1st August (The Dawn of a New Century for Scouting).
For Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Friends, Mums & Dads, Leaders, Ex Scouts & Supporters.

Sunrise Ceremonies are being held throughout the world on 1st August 2007
Most uniformed Scouts will be away camping at Jamborees (East Sussex scouts will be camping at the Martlets Jamboree at Laughton)
1st August is the official date for the Centenary celebrations. Baden Powell’s first Scout camp at Brownsea Island on that date in 1907.
There will be a sunrise ceremony in Brighton at the Peace Statue.
Anyone who has ever been invested in Cubs or Scouts is invited to attend (no uniforms)
Everyone, Mums, Dads, friends and supporters

Sign the book of attendance
There will be a Collection for Leo House Hospice (East Sussex Scouts chosen Charity for 2007) and the Scout flag will fly from the Town Hall.
