NetEx 2010
On the weekend of 18th/19th September, a team from the Three Deans ESU, consisting of Susie Barden, Finn & Arran Belden and Alfie Cook, entered the NetEx competition at Bushy Wood campsite. The weekend consisted of a variety of activities and challenges including a crystal maze based challenge, pioneering, a Eurovision inspired music contest, backwoods cooking, combined skills, a first aid scenario and various hilarious wide games.
The weekend was an incredibly enjoyable experience and we got the chance to test out our scouting skills and have lots of fun at the same time. It was also really great to meet other explorers from around the county, as well as represent our own district.
By the beginning of the second day the scores were pretty close, but due to our perseverance, planning, teamwork, exceptional balloon gathering ability and perhaps a little bit of luck we ended up winning the competition. We received a unique trophy featuring a mannequin which we now must add our own twist to. We’re really pleased at the turnout and would like to thank to EDSFAT for putting on the event, as we all had a really great time.
