Biker Groove 2011
A lovely day, weather wise! Sunny and warm. 64 Cubs from Brighton and Hove arrived at Parkwood with their bikes and helmets.
Firstly, all the bikers checked in, were given numbers and then they all trooped off to the Tuck Shop! Pat and Sharon didn’t expect the queue, but, nevertheless, it was there and they coped!
Race time arrived, after everyone had walked the course, each Cub had a trial race, then two timed rides.
There were hot dogs for all while the admin team sorted out the winners, which were nicely spread throughout the District.
Under 9 ½ Competition
Runner Up: Finlay High, from 14th Brighton
Winner: Charlie Goss, from 30th Brighton E
Over 9 ½ Competition
Runner Up: Tom Rogers, from 42nd Brighton M
Winner: Finn Russell, from 3rd Hove.
Team Competition
First: 3rd Hove
Second: 42nd Brighton M

The Hove Actually Explorers had stayed the previous night to assist with setting up the course, car park, etc.. They did a very good job - organised and responsible young people; thanks to Andy Burchell.
Altogether a brilliant time was had by all, thanks go to Martin P, Penny W, Penny M, Paul S, Andy V and Trevor L to name but a few, and grateful thanks to everyone else who assisted, however small, to make the day a success.
